Baby Girls Bobble Bee

Munchkin Bobble Bee

Munchkin Bobble Bee

Have you ever gone out to eat with an infant who is grabby? Who wants to see the utensils, the napkins, the condiments, the salt and pepper and your phone?
What that's just my kids well OK then.
Well lets say hypothetically your child dose this, one of the toys I do really like instead of the phone is this Bee, Baby girl loves her Bee she plays with in her high chair as well as on the floor. Batting at it, rattling it,  and chewing on it.
We have used it in several therapy sessions as a distraction when she is upset during PT, or OT, and as a toy she will move to, to investigate.  While it's not my favorite toy for teaching cause and effect It is a good one for that lesson. The wing on the right side helps with the beginning of fine motor dexterity, and the slight rattle on the wing on the left side is enough to distract most children.  Also the fact that it doesn't require batteries is a plus for us as we do use it outside of the house. And no annoying buzzing beeping. Two thumps up.
Munchkin Bobble Bee is available on Amazon for $8.49, Albee Baby for $9.99 and  Diapers. Con for $10.79.

Duckie,one of my fav toys.

a

When people ask me how I chose which toys I give to children and why  I tell them I try to zone into what the child needs or wants and go from there. And most things can be a child's toy.  For example If a child likes to crinkle things I will get them every type of paper I can get my hands on to work on motor control.
In the case of this duck,  my darling Baby Girl like many children with sensory issues likes consent vibration. It calms her, and distracts her, whether we're at the doctor, or  PT which like most infants she doesn't love.

Knowing this thought where can I get a toy that vibrates constantly, as she get even more upset when she's calming down and vibrating stops. I looked online and found some great toys however nothing quite, what I was looking for.
I thought why can't I place a small motor inside one or her toys to make it move, that idea warped into "why not but a cheap vibrator and sew it inside a stuff animal". I have been off doing just this when at the "toy" store the lovely young lady who was helping me ( I had to explain this was for a child with sensory issues)  pointed out this toy to me, "its water proof as its supposed to be used in the bath and it looks like a child's toy so it should do the trick" she said with a grin.
Baby Girl loves Ducky, we take it with us to every doctors visit, PT session, OT session and long trip. It calms her down during some of her BAD melt downs. And entertains her when she's just crawling around.

Ducky  takes 1 AAA battery and lasts for about a week of constant use.
The product is called---Travel-Size, I Rub My Duckie
Simply enter that into your search engines and you can avoid the porn sites, and raunchy adds.
Both  Walgreens.com and Amazon have it for $12.69
Also for an extra bonus the duck fits nicely inside A Sleep sheep if you take the sound box out, then you will have that soft vibrating toy I was originally after.

Mr. Pickles the Twiddle cat.

Mr. Pickles are a Twiddle cat, a therapy cat I found online. He is made Bulily and can be found on their website www.beaulily.com for $ 44.95
He is also on amazon for $ 61.95
He has a squishy ball in the middle a satin pocket, twiddle patch, and 3 sensory attachments, which include a satin bag with marbles colorful textured ribbons, and a loop of wooden beads.
Baby Girl loves playing with the ribbon and the beads at this point but this is a great toy she can grow with.
He is a made by beaulily, originally made for the elderly with Alzheimer's or dementia. However he is great for any baby, and any age special needs child. A friend whose 7 year old has ASD holds him on the buses on the way to school, stoking him when he's calm and squeezing the ball when he gets stressed.
I love the fact that he is an animal as we can help foster a relationship with cats using him.
We love him, and hope your family will as well.
Ps. Hubs named him Mr. Pickles because he was like stocking Dr. Evil's cat.

Please send me any of your thoughts or toys you love for special needs kids, teen, and adults as well as typical kids.

Wonderworld Flexi Raffy

This lovable guy is Wonderworld Flexi Raffy. I have never seen him available at any toy store ( and I go to them all) however I  did find him for sale on amazon $ 14.98, at diapers.com and yo yo.com for $15.00 and on Walmart.com also for $14.98. So I guess he has more of a presence on the market than I thought. Wonderful!!
This little guy was instrumental in getting Baby Girl to bring her hands to mid line, as well as crossing midline. With his flexible head and legs he let us move him Every which way we could think of to entice her to get at him. These two were the most popular poses we used his head down to look at her, she would clasp his head with her hands. Once we got her doing that we moved him to the left or right of her body there by crossing midline to clasp his head with both hands as she was used to doing.
We put him flat when she started rolling over to make eye contact with her and get her to reach for him while on her belly. Little Man was never that impressed with raffia so in general he let  Baby Girl play alone when he was out.
I have been thrilled with this toy and recommend it to anyone with special needs kids or not. But it is great for therapies.

My first fish bowl

Below is the toy My first fish bowl by Lamaze. I found this toy on amazon for $16.97 and diapers.com for $24.95.
It comes with a clear plastic bowl and four fish of different colors, texture and sounds.
This toy has been a hit at our house Little Man ( 2.5 year old) loves it because the fish at remove able and he has been into animals of all kind lately. Also we play toss the fish back into the bowl when I'm cleaning or just goofing off with him.
As happy as I am that little Man likes the toy I mainly bought it for Baby girl ( 9 month old) . Lately her OT and PT have been wanting to work on her hand dexterity by having her put items into a bowl and take them out again. This exercise works dexterity of the hands and fingers,  this is also a cognitive toy in that it teaches cause and effect and babies her age 8-12months start to understand that they can make things appear and go away again and again. The desire to do this as well as the ability is important
For further development.
Baby girl is currently teething so the different textures of the toys has been very appealing to her to chew on then drop. We haven't mastered putting the fish back in the bowl yet.
Overall I'm very pleased with the toy.
